Where The Sea Meet The Land
(Mt. Desert Island & The Gulf of Maine)
September 18 - 22, 2013
Join Mike Sipes and Marilyn Schmidt for four days in Maine investigating the ecology of Mount Desert Island and the surrounding sea. This workshop, held from September 18th - 22nd, will have you experiencing sunrise from the top of Cadillac Mountain, exploring Acadia National Park, and traveling with the staff of Allied Whale in search of marine mammals in the Gulf of Maine.
This workshop has been specifically designed for biology and environmental science teachers who want to become more familiar with this unique area of the country. A variety of field trips and programs will be conducted and presented by staff from Acadia National Park, Allied Whale, College of the Atlantic, The Nature Conservancy and the Jackson Laboratory for Mammalian Research.
Arrangements have been made for accommodations and meals at Mount Desert Island Biological Laboratory on Salisbury Cove. The $475 workshop fee will include meals, accommodations, round-trip transportation between Bangor International Airport and Bar Harbor, transportation throughout the workshop, entrance fees and boat trips.
