Kim, You continue to be my model for defining exemplary teacher, loving mom and so special a human being. I am in awe of your sharing, talking, dealing and continuing to teach students and fellow teachers in your unique style and by your pro-active example. You should know how you have been the heroine of Region II and the epitome of professional contributor across the nation if not the globe. I really meant it when I exclaimed my joy and excitement at meeting the "famous Kim Foglia" at the NABT AMNH workshop on cladistics. No one was more excited than me when I got your registration and knew our paths would cross AND I am not alone in these sentiments. I hope that my feeble words relay how much you are cherished.

Kim. Thank you so much for sharing this with all of us. I am stunned, sad, and grateful all at the same time. The way you are approaching this with your students sound infinitely sensible and evidence, as if we needed it, that you are a educator to your very core. We are all cheering you on.

Kim, as Brad said, your sharing this personal experience with the NABT Biology Community took both courage and commitment. Thank you for both. It has always been my experience that it is very difficult to totally separate our Biology selves from our Personal selves. As you said, when a teaching moment comes along, we grab it and run!!!

Thanks for sharing Kim--we feel honored that you "have shared such a moment with" us. Courage and Dignity--you have them both in spades.
